Viviva Colorsheets - Original & Spring Set!

Many of you have contacted us asking about the difference between the Original Single Set palette and the Spring Palette. Today I took a plunge to make it easy for you to choose between the two. In this blog, I will cover some basics about our colorsheets, the difference between the colors of the original single set and the Spring set, and 2 paintings of a jellyfish made by both the palettes to understand its difference better. Introduction to Viviva Colorsheets
What are Viviva Original and Spring Colorsheets?
Both colorsheets feature 16 transparent colors that are made from ultra-premium dyes creating transparent and vibrant colors. They are slightly different from the conventional watercolors of tubes and pan sets. Each Sheet contains 2 x highly saturated pigment “patches'' (6 x 4.5 cms.). These are almost pure dyes with very little binder, making them super vibrant. As the colors are high in concentration of pigment, you need very less water to activate them. The colors are comparable to a half pan set and are long-lasting provided used correctly and efficiently.
How to use them?
To use them, you need to gently touch the color with a slightly wet paintbrush and the colors will be activated immediately. Once activated, add it to the palette. You either use the inbuilt paper palette that comes with Viviva Colorsheets or any other palette would work too.

Original Single Set:
Viviva Original Set comes in 16 classic colors. These colors are best used for Landscapes, Portraits, Urban sketches, Murals, and many more. I love to make a series of Forest landscapes and Deep sea paintings as they have a beautiful range of deep shades of blue, green, and Red.
If you are someone who loves to make sunset/sunrise landscapes you are going to love these sets of colors! Crimson, Deep Pink, Vermillion, and Dusk Orange are your go-to shades for a magical landscape painting of dawn or dusk!
And for the night sky landscape lovers, Peacock Blue, Persian Blue, Violet, Magenta, and Slate Black are the best shades to use. Especially for the Aurora lights or galaxy painting. These colors work wonders to represent the mystery of the beautiful shifts of light and color combinations.

I am dividing the palette into 8-8 colors. The first half of the palette consists of shades of Reds and Yellows. And the second half comprises shades of Greens, Blues, and some more miscellaneous shades like Magenta, Violet, and black.
Spring Set:
The Spring Set comes with a completely new range of 16 colors along with some flaming red shades, lush greens, and jazzy blues. The best part about these sets is that they have 4 specially curated shiny metallic shades that can add a beautiful shimmer and shine to your painting.
As the name suggests these are a spring palette that has brighter shades than the Original single set. Have you ever fancied making a cherry blossom tree, pop art, or Summer themed paintings? Then these are perfect for them. Add highlights and create bright paintings like Florals/Fruits or even spring landscapes.
I love bright colors (who doesn’t!) especially when I want a flat-looking painting, but sometimes we need a few contrasting colors to have our paintings well balanced - light to dark to guide the eye. Especially to create a sense of depth and for beautiful textures. The spring palette is very well designed to balance out these factors. It has some contrasting colors like Burgundy, Treebark Brown, Midnight Blue, and Indigo Blue with which you can achieve these. And if they seem less, you can always use both the color palettes for your paintings (That's what I do!) This way you have the best of both the palettes.

A little tip to handle them Correctly:
In some cases, you might experience staining of your hands (especially magenta and vermillion) and might be challenged to maintain the colorsheets clean. Well, there is no full-proof solution to this but at the same time, we can definitely suggest some handling tips that will make it easier for you all. When you are using your colorsheets, avoid touching the patches directly with your hands. This causes the micro granules of the color to transfer onto your hand. You cannot see them but, once the granules come in contact with water or your sweat, they get activated causing it to stain. Hold your colorsheets at the edges or place your fingers on the water repellent sheets(as shown above). This will avoid your fingers getting directly in contact with the colors.
